American Universitys School of International Service offers professional
training in international affairs. The programs are based on an interdisciplinary
curriculum oriented towards the liberal arts that encourages students
to explore foreign affairs through the contributions of political scientists,
sociologists, anthropologists, economists, attorneys, historians, and
specialists in communications.
The school offers exceptional opportunities for undergraduate and graduate
studies. These opportunities evolve from the location of the university
in a world capital and from the rich human and documentary resources which
enhance the schools educational resources.
The diversity of the 55 full-time faculty of the School of International
Service in terms of academic disciplines and professional experience,
both in the United States and abroad, exemplifies the multi-disciplinary
and cross-cultural aspects of international relations. The school regularly
appoints adjunct and visiting professors and benefits from their expertise
in the field of international relations.
The School of International Service includes seven divisions: Comparative
and Regional Studies, International Communication, United States Foreign
Policy, International Economic Policy, International Politics, International
Peace and Conflict Resolution, and International Development.
The School of International Service is committed to educating future
generations of international relations specialists and to exposing them
to the various aspects and perspectives in the increasingly interdependent
global community.
